Trovo
Live streaming platform for gamers and creators with interactive monetization.
Overview
Trovo is a live-streaming platform for gameplay and other content, operated by TLIVE PTE LTD, and it describes itself as covering a website, mobile apps and browser extensions alongside the service itself. Its own framing is that it is for people who stream to an audience through dedicated channels, with the streamer and the viewer as its two roles and chat tied to each channel. The website is live and was rebuilt as recently as May 2026, and the help centre, terms and privacy policy all answer, though the mobile app has been delisted from the Google Play store.
How it works
The homepage opens on a rail of live categories, mostly game titles, alongside the general ones the platform runs such as ChitChat and IRL, and a viewer picks a channel from it and joins the chat attached to that channel. Streamers can hand out editor and channel management rights that show as a badge in chat, and communities called Spaces carry their own subscribe button. Around the streams sit features that are more social than a plain video player, including rooms in several formats, a top-online leaderboard, a weekly ranking and a VIP balcony, plus mini games, a shop and a referral scheme. Watching is free, and so is streaming, with the platform stating that it does not charge for basic functionality and putting its money into virtual currency instead. The mechanics of earning from it are gated, because a streamer can only withdraw after meeting minimum requirements for monetisation and signing a general streamer agreement, and its Trovo 500 programme pays on what it calls clean hours, which are paid hours after risk control strips out suspicious viewership.
Free vs paid
Nothing on the site is priced where a visitor can see it, which is the first thing to say about the money. What is published is the shape of it, with four currencies: Elixirs bought with real money, Mana earned by completing missions such as watching streams, Spells sent as tips to a streamer, and Gems as the unit of value inside the service, with the terms reserving the right to change the rates. Subscriptions are monthly recurring payments made to the streamer rather than to the platform, cancelled through an unsubscribe control and effective at the end of the period, with no refund for the payment already made. Elixirs are non-refundable as well, and the terms make reissued digital credit the only remedy when something goes wrong with one. No price, coin rate, subscription price or revenue-share percentage appears anywhere in the pages read for this review.
Safety and moderation
The age rule is 18, with an allowance for 16 to 18 year olds under the supervision of a parent or guardian, and users who have previously been removed are barred from coming back. Its privacy policy sets per-region minimum ages that run from 13 in Argentina, Canada and Nigeria up to 21 in Indonesia and Kuwait, so the number a user is held to depends on where they are. Gambling is prohibited outright, with the terms saying so even where it is legal in the user's jurisdiction, and explicit sexual content and nudity are banned except where nudity is part of a game's required storyline. Moderation is done by people, with a content moderation transparency notice and separate policies for reporting and bans sitting alongside the terms. Two other terms are worth reading before committing to the platform, in that it can terminate an account with or without notice at its sole discretion, and that disputes go to binding arbitration with no class actions and a liability cap.
Who it's for
Gamers who stream and viewers who watch them, and also people outside that world, since the platform says it wants a community open to everyone including those who have not been gamers or streamers before. The free side is genuinely generous for a viewer, with no charge to watch and no sign-up hurdle described, while the paid side is aimed at people who want to support a streamer with tips or a subscription. Anyone who wants an app should note that the Google Play listing is gone while the website still shows an app button, so the browser is the reliable way in.
Verdict
A working streaming platform with an economy it explains and a price list it does not publish. The free side is clear, the four-currency model is documented rather than hidden, and the payout gate is stated plainly, which is more than several platforms in this directory manage. The safety section is unusually specific for the category, with gambling banned outright, a ladder of per-region ages and human moderation backed by published policies. The caveats are the ones a contractual reader would raise, in that the terms carry binding arbitration and a liability cap, reissued credit is the only remedy for a digital purchase gone wrong, and the terms of service are dated years earlier than the privacy policy, so they differ in age rather than both being current. No price is published for anything, and the app is delisted, which leaves the browser as the way in.
